I think when all is said and done, most users don't care what you call
it. You could could call it "Two dogs" for all I care, really - although
that is the name of a lemon brew. ;)
I'm sorry if people got upset about my earlier e-mail about the "this
week in Compiz" newsletter. It wasn't meant to indicate any particular
fondness for a "Compiz" name. It was just to take in context a previous
suggestion for a newsletter and really, to suggest a newsletter soon (or
even now) would be good for user PR. The actual official name of the
newsletter can be settled later I would think. :) I'm from the Beryl
side of the tracks with regards to use.
To put a cat among the pigeons, you could throw open the naming to the
users, and the development team can pick a set of suggestions they like
from that, and then take poll from there. But at the end of the day, the
"ownership" of the name is with the developers and you devs have to deal
with the PR and all the other stuff that goes on with promoting the name
of your products - so whatever you guys (collectively) want to call it
goes.
Cheers,
JonB
