I agree with the idea of a nominating commitee, but I think it is the
wrong priority to spend 3 days with finding good names and 11 days with
holding the poll(s). It is important to get this right - as you say. So
we should put the priority on the creation of good name proposals, not
on ongoing bureaucracy. The "dozens" of available name suggestions are
more or less entirely inacceptable.

We are not in a hurry so we can safely spend at least two weeks with
finding good names (which is still ridiculously short compared to
"real-life" projects). Once there is a minimum list of 5-10 _acceptable_
names we should start the poll - no deadline, no hurry. 

It is definetly the wrong way to always put up deadlines and try to
enforce ideas, really good things need time.
