I think he avoids discussing here because he has better uses for his
time. I write here only rarely lately just for that reason.
If he always would try to have pointless discussions in circles with
you, he would get done less stuff and would probably no longer be the
most active developer.

You should be able to defend valid technical arguments. The people on
the Compiz ML aren't brainless people only listening to whoever shouts
loudest.
