i already had a thread for that on the ML
basically, make the attached script executable with
chmod 755 git_update.sh
then execute the script from the folder where you want all the compcomm
stuff to go with
../git_update.sh
(though unfortunately it doesn't compile animation, firepaint or winrules,
you have to do that manually (the script does update them though, all you
have to do is go into those folders after you built everything else and type
"make" and "make install")
then to start compiz, use Kristian's compiz manager script which is in the
"compiz-scripts" folder as created from the script.
cd compiz-scripts/manager
../compiz-manager
after the first time you do that though, you might want to change the
~/.compiz-managerrc file so that it uses the right decorator; and backend
for storing settings. If you want to use the ccs-settings (bsm replacement)
then set the plugins to ccp
# Plugins
PLUGINS="ccp"
# Or, to append:
# PLUGINS="$PLUGINS <... >"
and set the decorator further down the file to whatever you use (i don't use
helidor and that seems to be the deafult, so i changed it to emerald for
me....)
hopefully that isn't too confusing :D
have fun......(and remember this isn't release ready yet, expect some issues
(like ccs-settings not loading some plugins in the right order..) though
having said that, i'm finding compComm (nitpickers ignore the name) much
smoother than beryl :D
